Reflection On Story A Day 2016

StoryA Day is over and I’ve survived my first year as a participant.

I’ve actually written 33 stories this month,  one more than needed to complete the challenge.

The best bit about taking part in this challenge is that I’ve completed all of my stories for my sequence inspired by the seven deadly sins. This is a huge achievement because I’ve been working on this sequence on and off for the best part of 2 years.

On the minus side, I’ve made very little progress with the first draft of my new novel. I need to knuckle down from tomorrow.

I started to edit the deadly sin stories but I’ve decided to wait a few weeks and edit all of the stories with fresh eyes.

I really struggled the last week of the challenge when I was writing the pride stories. I really couldn’t get my mojo to work at all and after what seemed like forever something clicked.

I don’t know if I’d do the challenge next year as it takes even more time  and commitment than NaPoWriMo. If I do the challenge again I probably wouldn’t set myself a specific goal and be a bit more creative.

Things are going to be quiet on this website for a few days. I have a lot of admin work to do before I start editing my seven deadly sin stories which includes gathering the stories for each sin into one file and converting them to epub and mobile files which I find it easier to edit from.
